Cliff Peterson is an experienced litigator and expert in administrative law who specializes in complicated regulatory matters involving subjects as diverse as health care, financial services and land use. Prior to joining Kimbell Storrow Buckley Hughes in 2006 Cliff served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Division of the Vermont Attorney General's office, and as Assistant General Counsel at the Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration. Prior to coming to Vermont in 2001 Cliff represented clients in complex litigation while Of Counsel at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Philadelphia (1994-2001) and as an associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison in New York (1984-1992).

Cliff graduated with a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1984. Prior to attending law school Cliff obtained a Ph.D in English from the University of Washington, a M.A. in English from Arizona State University and a B.A. from the University of Montana. Cliff was a Fulbright Fellow at Oxford University in 1972-73.

He is currently a member of the governing board for the Mount Mansfield Union School District in northwestern Vermont.
